Dr. Eyal Lang Ben Nun

Psychiatry resident at Ichilov · private mental health practice in Modi'in

My approach

Turning to a psychiatrist is usually not the first step but the fourth or fifth, and people arrive after a hard stretch. That is why the first session is devoted mainly to understanding: what is happening, since when, and what you have already tried.

Medication is one tool among several, not the default. When it is appropriate I explain exactly why, what to expect, how long it takes and what the possible side effects are — so the decision is yours and not mine.

Alongside medication I offer neurofeedback — a non-pharmacological neuromodulation method that trains self-regulation of brain activity. Suitability is assessed individually, as part of the full clinical picture and not as a substitute for it.

What happens in the first session

The initial psychiatric evaluation lasts about 70 minutes. Beforehand you will receive a short intake form by email; filling it in ahead of time leaves more of the session for conversation.

In the session we go over your background, what is troubling you and what has already been tried. You leave with a clear picture and a recommendation for what comes next. Follow-up sessions, where needed, last 40 minutes.
